Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
Friday I announced the winner of my $25 gift card giveaway, Susan Y! Susan, please send me your address so I can sent that out to you! :) Also, don't forget to check out my other giveaway for a $200 Target gift card, among MANY other prizes! It ends tomorrow night!
Friday after I got off work I met up with my friend Sara to do some shopping. I can't even remember the last time I went shopping with a friend. It's probably been since college. That's ridiculous, I know. We had so much fun!
After shopping a while, we went to dinner at one of my favorites, Flattop Grill. I made two bowls of the same thing, and took one home.
My bowls consisted of brown rice, some rice noodles, corn, green beans, green onions, broccoli, chicken, beef, soy sauce, chili sauce, and garlic. I usually stick with the same things - I'm a creature of habit. We met back at my house with some mutual friends and hung out for awhile. We were all super tired, and I went to bed pretty early. I'm like an 80 year old at heart, what can I say?
After dinner we decided to drive to DSW. Neither of us knew where it was, so I asked Siri. I kid you not, she tried to take us to antartica at least 5 times before she understood.
We finally made it to DSW, and I bought these beauties.
I've been wanting a pair of nude pumps for.ev.er. but just didn't have the time/money to buy them. LOVE these so much! Jess, you make some great shoes girlfriend.
Saturday I ran errands, and did some grocery shopping. I picked a few new salad kits.
I tried the Dole Asian Island Crunch salad kit today for lunch, and it wasn't my favorite. I knew I wouldn't like the pineapple, so I didn't put it in, but the dressing was just okay and the lettuce was a little wilted. I bought it on sale since it was old, so that was my fault. I just prefer the Taylor Farms one if I'm going the Asian route. I just pick out the cilantro, it doesn't taste right in the salad.
Speaking of groceries, have you tried Ibotta yet? I earned almost $15 back on my groceries!! It gives you money back for things you buy. I'm in love! Click the link above, and then share with friends. For every friend you refer, you get ANOTHER $1! I'm all for saving money, if you haven't noticed. :)
Saturday afternoon I went and had my nails done. I don't do this often, so it's always a treat when I can go! I just did a boring french on both my toes and hands. We'll see how long it lasts! Drew texted me while I was at the salon to pick up a redbox when I was finished, so I grabbed Ted. I didn't know much about it except that Drew had told me awhile ago that it was funny. I thought I would be nice and pick up something he would like instead of a chick flick. I got home and showed him what I brought, and he told me I should have grabbed the click flick, as it was supposedly super raunchy and awful. oops. We watched it, and it wasn't as bad as I expected, but definitely wasn't the best movie i've ever seen.
Sunday we went to church and had a relaxing evening. Overall it wasn't a super exciting weekend, but it was nice! I am, however, looking forward to spring break. (20 days until we leave for Las Vegas. But who is counting?) We are going on a super cheap and short trip, and I am so ready! I changed my desktop at work to a picture of our hotel's pool.
That's probably where I will be for most of the trip. It costs extra to use the gym (Like $25 PER DAY!!!!) So I am planning on finding an anytime fitness nearby or just running the stairs. The latter is probably more likely, since we won't have a car. I've started trying to find decently priced restaurants, but the possibilities are endless.
Have you been to Vegas? What was your favorite restaurant? Any frugal tips for me?

I went to Vegas for the first time a few years ago for a friend's wedding. First of all. Bring comfortable shoes. Unless you are taking cabs, you will be doing a TON of walking. I was seriously tired when the trip was over and my feet hurt really bad (I tried to wear flip flops). Second, everything is really, really expensive on the Strip. Stuff is cheaper downtown but it's still comparatively high priced. If I were to go again, I would try to eat at buffets because they offer the most amount of portion control. The buffet at the Paris is pretty good. I think I remember the price of the buffet being about $40/person. Yeah. It's ridiculous. And be prepared to wait in long lines if you do go that route. There are a lot of places to just grab a quick bite, but they don't offer much health-wise so maybe try to have a couple healthy things in your bag (nuts, granola bar, etc.). I grabbed a couple of things at the airport to stash in my purse. If you aren't going to be drinking alcohol, keep a water bottle around. I was so dehydrated and tired from jet lag and I definitely didn't drink enough water. Other than that, just be prepared to be tempted a lot. Food is around every single corner and it all smells so good. It's called the City of Sin for more than one reason. Other than that, just try to have fun and don't beat yourself up if you don't do everything perfectly. HAVE FUN!
ReplyDeleteYou rock. Seriously. Thank you for typing that all out for me! I have a document with all the tips people are giving me, and you have added SO much!! I
